Job Summary
As a Graduate Engineer focusing in the Mechanical team, this role will be tasked with great responsibility, as in the absence of the Lead Engineer, the Graduate Engineer will be empowered to assume the responsibility.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide professional design and engineering work to the assigned systems or packages by using the identified and approved standards and tools as e.g. Engineering Checklists, Document and CAD Standards, company templates.
• Provide professional engineering input, review and implement required changes to all aspects of the design relating to the assigned systems or packages and supporting the System Owners or Work Package Owners during the lifetime of the project, regardless of the project phase (e.g. design, procurement, construction, commissioning, validation, handover, close-out).
• Issue, review and present the required and assigned design and engineering documents (e.g. diagrams and schematics, drawings, specifications, submittals, ITP’s, commissioning plans) following the approved project schedule (e.g. also design schedule, commissioning schedule) and the related company procedures (e.g. Document Control) for review. Perform the professional review and include the provided review comments prior to the document release according to the schedule.
• Document and report the changes in the design work throughout the design process
• Generate a comprehensive and complete Bill of Quantity for the assigned work following the project stage (e.g. concept, preliminary, detail design) on the approved company template
• Actively support the project coordination. Provide input to Interdisciplinary coordination documents as advised and / or by following the relevant schedule and maintain the provided input information throughout the project in case of changes or availability of details.
• Provide professional input to RFI’s under the assigned system or package.
• Review and comment third party design documents on the assigned systems or packages (e.g. LDI or subcontractor documentation, shop drawings, work plans, JHAs, method statements etc.)
• Support the Tender process by providing tender relevant information to the assigned systems or packages. Participate in the relevant tender reviews, meetings, and provide valuable input. Recommend vendors, review and comment on technical bid documents, and provide professional technical input to the tender evaluation.
• Collect, review, present and issue design and project close-out information for the assigned packages or systems.
• Attend or lead the required and scheduled meetings for the packages and systems assigned, attend Department and Section meetings within the organization, trainings, and forums.
Requirements
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject
• Diploma holders with additional 1 years’ experience unless equated with professional certifications
• Technically competent in applicable fields of Mechanical Engineering
• Highly structured, systematic and organised
