The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and construction teams and prepare technical drawings and documents.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Work with the senior engineer/ manager to develop design documentation.
- Design of Electrical Power Distribution, Lighting, Grounding, Signaling, Communication, Security/Life safety and Instrumentation.
- Perform detailed calculations such as cable sizing, voltage drop, breaker selection/setting, co-ordination studies and containment sizing.
- Updating the electrical database (Amtech/EasyPower).
- Drafting 2D schematic and equipment plan drawings.
- Adherence to project schedule.
- Review of design guides and specification.
- Co-coordinating with sub-contractor resolve RFIs and answering submittals.
- Other duties as required and as directed by the senior engineer or managers.
Show your expertise
- A Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least 10 years+ experience.
- To be fully conversant in the following:
- Basic electrical calculations
- Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure and on own initiative.
