Principal function of the EHS Manager is to advise the Construction team on health and safety matters, to monitor the health and safety performance of the Project and its appointed sub-contractors. The Project EHS Manager will ensure that Exyte EHS Department provide a range of services including inspections, audits, training, accident investigation, and environmental monitoring. The EHS Manager will work closely with the Client and sub contractor’s EHS supervisors and will liaise with external enforcement agencies where necessary.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

  • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
  • Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings.
  • Safety and Health Deficiency Tracking:
  • Establish a Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) Deficiency Tracking System that lists and monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
  • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on site and their material Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Maintain a weekly list of high hazard activities involving energy, equipment, excavation, entry into confined space, and elevation, and be prepared to discuss details during QC Meetings.

Show your expertise

  • Safety qualification
  • 10 years minimum construction safety experience
  • Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation
  • Computer literate, at minimum Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Lead by example
  • Work diligently and professionally at all times
  • Maintain familiarity with legislative changes and update Company procedures to reflect / encompass requirements
  • Be assertive, fair and consistent when implementing Company or legislative requirements
