Engineer, Process (Chemicals)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists Lead/Senior Engineer in developing concept for new project work;
  • Able to develop PFD, P&ID and data sheet from concept stage to basic engineering stage to further detailed engineering stage for smaller project;
  • Assists Lead/Senior process engineer in developing PFD, P&ID, data sheet and other process deliverables for larger projects;
  • Works independently or with Lead/Senior Engineer in the detailed design - PFDs, P&ID, datasheets, process equipment specifications, equipment list, line list, simulation run, calculations. Engineer would also support pre commissioning and commissioning activity for client;
  • Attends HAZOP when needed;
  • To feedback lessons learnt to Lead/Senior Engineer;
  • Assists in carrying out pipeline hydraulic, sizing calculation of PSV’s,  control valve etc;
  • Assists Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer in dealing with vendor print review and comment;
  • Assists Lead Engineer or Senior Engineer working on HYSYS or any other software in obtaining thermo physical properties of various chemical being handled or in analyzing output results;
  • Assists Senior Engineer or Lead Engineer in meeting with client in kick off meeting or other weekly meeting as and when needed;
  • Assists in providing process parameters to instruments for sizing pressure control valve, back pressure valve, mass flow meters and all other kind of instruments;
  • Visits site as and when necessary and as advised by Lead/Senior Engineer;
  • Assists in all type of material handling, de bottleneck studies, vessel occupancy study;
  • Assists in technical report writing, compiling and coordinating;
  • Assists Project Managers in achieving project completion within budget and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical
  • Diploma holders with additional 2 - 3 years’ experience unless equated with professional certifications
  • 4 - 6 years relevant Design and Construction experience in Petrochemical, Refinery or Chemical industry
  • Construction Site experience involving all process related works and commissioning various pump, heat exchangers, Columns, Separation systems, Instruments, waste heat recovery system, cooling systems, Boilers, Air compressor and other utility systems. This experience should not be more than 1-2 years
  • Willing to travel, if required
  • Wiling to work on 1 year contract.
