Job Summary


  • To manage, control and deliver a medium size complex project or a number of smaller projects simultaneously to the satisfaction of both the company and client
  • This responsibility could begin at tender or the commencement of negotiations

Duties & Responsibilities


  • To ensure that all statutory and company safety requirements are met
  • To ensure that company procedures are complied with and that relevant information is communicated with the project staff
  • To develop good relationships with the client and potential clients along with their respective advisors
  • To work with the Operations / Project Director ensuring that the projects are adequately staffed by suitably qualified and experienced staff and that future needs are identified
  • To maximise the project margin
  • To ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, the company is protected during contract negotiations, on-site works and post contract discussions
  • To foster relationships with Project consultants & contractor personnel
  • By working with heads of individual departments ensure that staff training is kept up to date and that regular personnel reviews & succession plans are undertaken, identified and progressed accordingly
  • Lead by example setting the required standards of behaviour and conduct for the project
  • Communicate the project strategy & programme with the project team ensuring the objectives are met and understood
  • Liaise with the procurement lead during the package letting process, interview & progress tenders through to construction
  • Liaise with all other parties to the Project including technical input to design & procurement
  • Manage all Contractors & Suppliers on the Project
  • Have commercial awareness to control Contractors site instructions & contract extra’s
  • Hold regular progress meetings with Contractors & Suppliers, monitor & instigate changes to maintain the Project Programme.

    • EPCM
    • Manufacturing Site – Project Management
  • Relevant training certificates
    • EHS
    • GMP
    • PMI or similar

Highly Desirable (but not essential)
