Head of Instrumentation and Control (m/f/x)

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Establish the new department Instrumentation and Control within Exyte Central Europe (CE) to build technical capacities in process automation
  • Prepare a department strategy related to I&C scope in projects, skillset of employees
  • Prepare a staffing plan and recruit required resources together with HR and Head of Engineering and Design
  • Management of resource planning and resources utilisation across related offices within CE
  • Overlook performance in project execution and introduce corrective measures  if required
  • Perform cold eye reviews in projects related to I&C
  • Contribute to proposal management, - preparation and – review
  • Setup and control department budget
  • Define; prepare and train standards, SOP’s, workflows within the field of responsibility
  • Support to standardize systems, tools and SOP’s
  • Actively work as I&C Snr. Lead Engineer in projects
  • Lead and control external engineering subcontractor or construction subcontractor




  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • 10+ years in complex technical knowledge in process automation and I&C’s
  • Project Management experience
  • Proven leadership skills working across multiple disciplines / departments
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills in German and also in English
  • Exceptional organization and coordination skills
  • Working knowledge in PLC hardware and software design and concepts
  • Knowledge in Siemens, Yokogawa, On/Off and ABB automation software
  • High willingness to travel
